Explosion in Myanmar Leaves One Child Dead and 23 Others Injured

The Myanmar State Administrative Council Information Team reported that the explosion took place around 12:40 (local time) today in the Dawei locality of the Tanintharyi region.
On Wednesday, in a primary school in the Tanintharyi region of southern Myanmar, an explosion killed one child and injured 23 people.

The incident was triggered by a residual bomb from a previous terrorist attack. The explosive device was found by students on the school campus.
The children saw the bomb and took it to a teacher, however, the explosive fell to the ground causing the explosion.
The student closest to the epicenter of the explosion died, while 22 children were affected and a student’s father was also damaged by the bomb.
The security forces proceeded to the scene and are clearing mines or other explosives on the ground.
